The other great patron of science, the state, . . . enthusiastically
promotes unreason. In recent years we have seen concerted
and highly effective campaigns . . . to promote false beliefs
in target populations. These campaigns have made
sophisticated use of polling techniques, marketing
expertise and other devices.
(Dan Hind, editorial head of Bodley Head Publishing, in a speech to
the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures
and Commerce, London, November 2007)
Note. The tendency for documents - especially critical ones or those containing inconvenient evidence against fluoridation - to disappear from the web is increasing. Some web sites that are particularly effective in getting across the mounting evidence of the dangers of universal water fluoridation, and of the toxicity of fluoride to people with a variety of vulnerable medical conditions, are being hacked by the pro-fluoride faction. For example, a very obvious recent attack was that on Paul Connett's excellent site, www.fluoridealert.org. Such attacks are futile, since most of the documents and other sources of evidence available on such sites can be found elsewhere.
Some of the external resources links on this page are duplicated by archived copies of documents on this site that need to be available to orgnisations and researchers, regardless of current availability on the web. We have shown where the originals may be found, and researchers should always visit these source sites to ensure the credibility and provenance of the material that they use. If they prove unobtainable, try the home link instead.
Many other documents on this site are authored by ourselves - these may be copied and distributed freely, providing only that their origin and authorship remains clear. This is in case anyone wishes to contact us for more specific information.
